05:00 PMThis 2-month course enables a Seafarer to attain the required Knowledge & Competence to become a Chief Engineer onboard a Foreign Going (FG) Vessel after clearing their MMD Exams. This course, along with the required modular courses, is Mandatory for Seafarers holding MEO Class 2 COC and aspiring to appear for MEO Class 1 Examinations at MMDs. This course is designed & delivered as per the latest STCW Convention & as per the D. G. Shipping Guidelines, as applicable.
36Months as Engineer officer on watch which shall include 12Months as holder of COC as MEO Class II and36Months shall be reduced to 24Months, if 12Months served as 2nd Engineer officer for Steam/Motor.
40Months (20 Months Motor + 20Months steam) which shall include not less than 12 months as holder of COC as MEO Class II combined (Steam and Motor) and40Months shall be reduced to 36Months (18Months motor + 18months Steam), if 12 months served as 2nd Engineer officer for Steam/MotorThe Propelling time must be at least two thirds of the corresponding sea service period
